Address
Please check that your address in the portal BayerNet | myServices is correct. If you would like to have personal documents such as your payslip, certificates, etc. sent to the address where you are living during your internship, please enter this under myServices - Personal Details - Address and phone no.
To ensure that your internship certificate, references, etc. can be delivered correctly, please ensure that HR receives your current address for at least 6 months after the end of your internship.
Health insurance and income tax
Please contact your local tax office (“Finanzamt”) to obtain a PAYE tax deduction certificate for the current year or submit your tax card for the previous year. If you do not submit these documents, you will be assigned to Tax Class VI. If you do not submit proof of membership of a statutory health insurance plan, we will automatically register you with the pronova BKK health insurance fund.
Please note: Changes and amendments resulting from subsequent submission of the necessary documents can only be taken into account from the following salary round. Ideally, all documents required for payroll purposes should be submitted when you start your internship or within the first 14 days of your internship. Details of all other documents required can be found in the information sheets headed "Important Information" and "Welcome ... to our company”, which are attached to your contract.
The department of Talent Marketing Operations offers various networking activities for all interns in Germany.
On the Bayer internal social networking platform “Connections” we established the intern community “Praktikanten bei Bayer”. This community has two sub-communities: one for the interns working at the Niederrhein sites (Community “Praktikanten Standort Leverkusen”) and one for the interns located in Berlin (Community “Praktikanten Standort Berlin”). All interns that receive a Bayer email address will have access to this network. As soon as you have access to the intranet you can request access to the communities via connections.
Within the intern communities we post all information that is of interest for you such as the dates and programs of our intern events. Thereby, we offer regular intern lunches, intern information events, lectures and tours in different departments as well as social events.
You can register for these events within these communities. Moreover, Connections works as a networking tool and as a platform that helps to get in touch with other interns, managers and the University & Talent Relations team.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in our intern community!
Bayer ID card
Please collect your Bayer Identity Card from the office that issues passes (Ausweisbüro) on your first day. You can find the address in the covering letter you received with your contract. For security reasons you are requested to wear your Bayer ID card visibly while you are on the site. If you lose it, you have to notify the pass office immediately. Similarly, if you extend your internship, please take the letter from us to the pass office to apply for a new ID card. Please hand your ID card to site security at the end of your internship.
Medical examination
Please make sure that you attend the medical examination, if required. Further details are given in the covering letter of the internship contract.
Forms
You are required to complete two forms at the start of your internship: one in compliance with Section 81 of the Works Constitution Act and a confirmation about complying with the Bayer Group regulations.
Your supervisor or manager will provide you with the forms. Please discuss the content with him/her, sign both forms and send them to HR.
