A better balance of professional and private priorities

Imagine a company that supports you when it comes to balancing your professional and private priorities: Offering the flexibility to pick up your child from kindergarten or school as promised. To take off early once a week - in favor of sports, for instance. To save up some time for that very special journey. Or to work from home when this allows you to get your job done just as well – or even better.
Bayer wants to be such a company – and it is up to all of us to make it happen. At Bayer, we are increasing our flexibility regarding 'where' we work and 'when', and we are opening up options for devoting more time to our youngsters or elderly relatives.
Measures offered to Bayer employees at different sites include:

Yes, there are limitations, for example when increased flexibility would seriously impact workflows. But proper planning will help prevent potential conflicts. It is therefore highly recommended to explore possibilities with your supervisor at an early point. He or she has to ensure that your function’s responsibilities and requirements can be met in your absence. He or she will also confirm that flexible working options are actively supported at Bayer, reflecting the flexibility element expressed in our LIFE values.

This service is free for Bayer employees; all you pay is the cost of the childcare itself.

Freedom to care for those close to you
Many employees will one day have to face the question of how they balance their profession with the need to care for a close relative. This responsibility is fully respected by Bayer. In this difficult situation, all employees should be supported to the best of one’s abilities.
To this end, Bayer has established a framework, specified in the collective agreement on family and profession, to give you the space and freedom you need and that aims to offer relief in this situation.
Further Bayer bears the cost for the counseling for all questions relating to looking after someone in need of care. This counseling is provided by the famPlus GmbHwho is available to you as a professional, external counseling center.
