We hope your internship with us will be successful. In order to make it a valuable experience for you, we aim to ensure that interns receive a good introduction, are assigned interesting tasks and are given opportunities to network and to work independently. However, things might not always run as smoothly as the intern would like. Therefore, we would like to ask you to keep an eye on the following aspects right from the start.

- feel you have too much or too little to do
- would like to broaden the scope of your assignments
- feel isolated from the rest of the team
- feel bad because you cannot complete a task
- are unsure what is ok (permitted) and what isn't
- don't like the way your supervisor treats you/ communicates with you
... please do not hesitate to directly talk to your supervisor. Alternatively, you can contact the University & Talent Relations Team by phone or E-Mail. We will of course handle the subject confidentially. We would like to encourage you to discuss any problems as soon as possible as this way we are able to respond quickly and to help to solve the problem.
Canteen
Meals are purchased in the canteen with your Bayer Identity Card (cash is not accepted). You first have to load money onto your card at one of the terminals. If there is still credit on your card on the last day of your internship, you can have it refunded via the guest card terminal (Gastkartenautomaten), which can be found at the terminals for loading money onto cards.
A word of caution about using your card to purchase meals in the canteen: please be aware that the status of Bayer ID cards for many interns is initially set to "external". In this case, you will be charged a supplement. You should therefore ask for a receipt and check whether a supplement was charged. If so, you should report to the cashier. You will be given the name of the person responsible for the administration of the payment system. If you call the number given and tell your personnel number, your card status will be set to "employee" and the supplement you were charged will be refunded the next time you use one of the terminals.
